Speech for the Honorary Award: Professor Honoris Causa - Lubomir Lakatos, D.Sc., Ph.D., M.Sc., B.B.A., Dr. h.c., TITC-C.T., TITC-C.W.T.
Topic of the Acceptance Speech: The Right to Life
I am deeply honored to accept the honorary title of Professor Honoris Causa in the Humanities from Grace Ladies Global Academy. To begin, please allow me to introduce myself: my name is Dr. Lubomir Lakatos.
I completed my postgraduate studies at Collegium Humanum, Warsaw Management University, in the Republic of Poland. In 2023, I earned the title of Doctor of Science in the field of psychotraumatology. I prepared my final dissertation under the guidance of the esteemed Associate Professor and practicing forensic psychologist, Dr. Mária Gažiová. The topic of my dissertation was "The Possibilities of Contemporary Therapy and Hagiotherapy in the Coping Strategies of the Roma Population in Toronto, Aged 15 to 50 Years." I sincerely appreciate the exceptional review provided by Professor Dr. Anna Hogenová from the Hussite Theological Faculty of Charles University in Prague. In her concluding remarks, dated January 20, 2023, she unequivocally recommended the dissertation for defense. The postgraduate dissertation was successfully defended in accordance with the university's regulations on May 21, 2023.
Subsequently, from 2024 to 2025, I completed my doctoral studies and earned the title of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biblical Studies at Queens College of Theology, an accredited degree-granting institution located in Charlotte, North Carolina. My dissertation, supervised by Dr. Randy Leftwich, D.Min., is titled “Treatise on Satan: A Theological Study of the Character of Satan, the Devil, in the Bible.” I successfully defended the dissertation on February 27, 2025, after which I was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Studies.
At Charles University in Prague, specifically at the Evangelical Faculty, I completed three semesters of lifelong learning. The courses were conducted over two periods: the first semester began on May 17, 2013, while the second and third semesters took place from January 10, 2014, to May 30, 2014, also in Prague. During these courses, I focused on the following subjects: • “The Jewish Bible: Its Traditions and Terminology” • “Medieval Church History in Bohemia and Moravia” • “The Return of the Sacred: Religious Themes in Contemporary Culture.” The lifelong learning program at the Evangelical Faculty of Charles University lasted for one and a half years.
I completed my Master’s degree (MSc) in Marketing on May 10, 2022, at LIGS University. My master’s thesis is titled: "Addressing the Promotion of the Image of the Church of Seventh-day Adventists (CASD™) through Methods of the Marketing and Communication Mix in the Marketing of Religious Organizations: Church of Seventh-day Adventists (CASD™), Slovak Association."
I completed my bachelor's degree in Management, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) by successfully defending a project on the topic of "Corporate Social Responsibility." The supervisor of my final project was Mgr. Markéta Dvořáčková, MBA. I defended my thesis on November 14, 2019.
At the Traumatology Institute in Toronto, Canada, I completed specialized training under the guidance of Dr. Anna B. Baranowsky, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist and CEO. I successfully earned two specializations:
- Clinical Psychotraumatologist (TITC-C.T.) – a specialization consisting of 98 credit hours, which I successfully completed on May 29, 2024.
- Community and Occupational Psychotraumatologist (TITC-C.W.T.) – a specialization comprising 91 credit hours, for which I successfully completed the examinations on October 10, 2024.
I was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa on January 22, 2025, by the Registered Business College in North Carolina, United States, through Grace Ladies Global Academy. A contribution titled "Interdisciplinary Holistic Approaches to Addressing Complex Human Biological, Psychological, Social, and Spiritual Needs – Philosophy, Ethics, and Religion" was published on the Grace Ladies Global Academy website on January 19, 2025. Based on this contribution, I was granted the honorary doctorate (Dr. h.c.) in the field of Humanities.
For completeness, I would like to provide additional details about my secondary education. I studied to become a Food Quality Specialist at a four-year secondary school in the Slovak Republic from 2001 to 2005. This program was officially recognized on June 22, 2012, in the Czech Republic in the field of Food Analysis. During my secondary education, I published a specialized project as part of the Secondary Specialized Activities (SOČ) in the field of chemistry, focusing on the topic "Chemical-Microbiological Aspects of Drinking Water." For this project, I received first place in both the regional and county rounds of SOČ in 2004. On April 30, 2004, I was honored with the Dean's Award in Chemistry by the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Comenius University. I successfully completed my final school-leaving examination on May 24, 2005.

During this period, I completed numerous certified training courses in various specialized fields. These courses included training in psychotraumatology, which encompassed clinical, occupational, and community trauma, as well as foundational courses in psychology and psychiatry, and training in first psychological aid. Additionally, I participated in several economics courses and webinars, both during my studies and through online courses on LinkedIn. These programs focused on support and included:
- Provincial Peer Support Worker (PSW) – British Columbia, Canada
- House Support Work – British Columbia, Canada
- Training in the administration of naloxone and community support services.
- First Aid and Response for Opioid Overdoses
- Stress Management and Coping Skills
- Certification in Applied Economics
- Food Epidemiology
- HACCP and GMP
I have also attended numerous professional courses in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Canada, all designed to enhance both my soft and hard skills.
I undertook a diverse array of responsibilities, ranging from serving as a microbiological laboratory technician to providing consultative and support services. I take pride in the fact that, even during challenging times—such as while collecting food in Spain, during the initial phases of my work in Northern Ireland, and throughout what is considered the pinnacle of liberation in Toronto, Ontario, Canada—I discovered an inner peace that I was able to share. This enabled me to facilitate meaningful and supportive conversations during personal, in-depth sessions.
I recognize that I am by no means perfect, and I fully acknowledge my shortcomings. Throughout my life, I have learned that while I make mistakes, I have never intentionally done anything that could tarnish the purity of my conscience. Every experience teaches me that recognizing one’s own weaknesses is essential for personal growth. I am simply an ordinary human being who deeply understands the essence of human existence—not only as a rational entity but also as an emotional being with desires, dreams, and doubts.
I believe that literature, philosophy, history, art, aesthetics, cultural studies, and linguistics are invaluable pillars that help us construct a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the human condition. These disciplines enable us to comprehend and harmonize our biological, social, psychological, and spiritual needs. I view them as four dimensions of our being, each equally important and meant to be explored independently and without coercion. True spiritual seeking should arise from a personal desire to know the Divine—a quest in which the continuous posing of questions and the pursuit of answers lead to deeper inner peace and an authentic connection with every facet of our existence.
I have studied religious literature, and my approach is clearly defined: I am a non-denominational and non-confessional theologian with an interdisciplinary perspective on the Bible. I do not view the Bible merely as a collection of sacred texts; rather, I see it as a wellspring of wisdom that requires the integration of various disciplines, including literature, philosophy, history, and cultural studies. This approach enables me to gain a deeper understanding of the spirit and message of biblical narratives while continually transforming them into a living expression. In my speeches, I bring biblical stories to life in a manner that not only inspires but also aligns with the principles of hagiotherapy, biblical counseling, and support for prisoners seeking answers about the meaning of life.
Furthermore, I am a deeply devout Christian committed to a non-denominational and non-confessional faith, with a strong emphasis on Biblical truth as the Word of God. I wholeheartedly embrace the core principles of the Reformation, known as the Five Solas:
- Sola Fide (by faith alone) • Sola Gratia (by grace alone) • Sola Scriptura (by Scripture alone) • Solus Christus (Christ alone) • Soli Deo Gloria (to the glory of God alone).
I am actively involved in volunteer work with Crossroads Prison Ministry Canada. For over nine months, I have been mentoring individuals who are studying the Bible. Additionally, I serve as a mentor through extensive written communication in various theological courses and mentoring programs across Canada. I regularly exchange reflective letters and provide guidance to my students, establishing myself as a trusted non-denominational theological mentor. Through these authentic interactions, I assist others in cultivating inner peace and navigating their spiritual journeys. By integrating academic knowledge with practical, real-life applications, my interdisciplinary approach to theology enables me to connect deeply with individuals and support their overall growth.
I firmly believe that we should refrain from judging others, as everyone makes mistakes. Our human nature is rooted in the ability to learn, grow, and occasionally stumble. I have faith in the power of understanding, sincerity, genuine interest, authenticity, and compassion—values that allow us to cultivate mutual respect and empathy.
I never pass judgment on anyone because every individual possesses an inherent right to life and dignity. Regardless of our missteps or failures, I believe that each person is valuable and deserves respect. Our ability to forgive and understand our mistakes is the cornerstone of compassionate and empathetic coexistence.
My relationship with God is grounded in the belief that only the Supreme Being has the ultimate authority to define moral values, as God embodies infinite love and forgiveness, as revealed in the Divine Word of the Bible. This teaching encourages us to love our enemies, pray for those who have wronged us, and extend forgiveness to them. Although it can be incredibly challenging to forgive those who have hurt or betrayed us, I believe that seeking forgiveness and allowing time to heal enables us to recover and find the strength to rise again in the face of life’s trials—even when we feel broken.
I often work with small groups and individuals who seek a deeper philosophical and spiritual understanding of life. By facilitating discussions, confrontations, and meditative reflections—where joys and sorrows are shared openly—I demonstrate that we are all human, united by a common longing for understanding, love, and inner peace. These interactions serve as a reminder that even in challenging times, we can discover the strength and hope necessary to move forward.
I understand that at times, tears can be extraordinarily salty, and our spirits endure profound pain. We all experience emotional suffering; however, we find strength through our faith in God, in Christ, and in the Helper, the Holy Spirit. I believe in the Bible and in sincere, purposeful dialogue that guides us toward answers to life's most pressing questions.
That is why I emphasize four fundamental trans-spiritual needs that everyone must clearly define for themselves. Only by doing so can we begin to address the profound questions that stir our souls.
- Why do certain events occur? Why is this happening to me? How can I move forward?
Equally important is recognizing when to seek professional help, when to pray humbly, and when to engage in conversations characterized by non-judgment and active, empathetic listening.
I am convinced that each of us harbors something within that may evoke a sense of shame. However, if we learn to demonstrate understanding and empathy—as Christ teaches us—and if we can listen without prejudice and genuinely empathize with others, we will achieve a deeper understanding of ourselves. In that moment, when we see ourselves through the eyes of others, we uncover the true meaning of our existence and the fulfillment that arises from authentic connections with those around us.
The life of an entrepreneur—and indeed, anyone involved in business—can be exceptionally challenging. Therefore, it is essential to find effective coping strategies and manage stress. The ability to navigate our emotions, traumas, and anxieties is fundamental to personal growth and achieving inner balance. The primary rule I adhere to is simple: do no harm. In other words, "do no harm" should serve as the guiding principle for our actions.
This is precisely why I am passionate about engaging in authentic conversations and facilitating dialogues—whether in intimate one-on-one settings, small groups, or everyday discussions. Active listening, a profound understanding of life's fundamental purpose, and the continuous pursuit of inner peace, balance, and harmony are invaluable to me. When we discover this inner harmony within ourselves, we unlock a source of strength that enables us to meditate, reflect, share prayers, and recognize that we are simply human beings who need one another.
This holistic approach falls within the realm of humanities studies, in which I am deeply engaged through the examination and interpretation of religious literature, interdisciplinary philosophy, and community practice. To me, these disciplines serve as a bridge between practical experience and spiritual insight, facilitating a harmonious integration of all aspects of human existence.

I am convinced that throughout my life, I have encountered numerous pivotal moments, some of which have been traumatic. Every individual must face their own trials and confront their inner demons if they genuinely wish to live fully. This is precisely why I can deeply empathize with those who endure profound pain, intense emotions, and other challenging circumstances. I, too, have grappled with the question of whether I truly want to live, and this cathartic experience has shaped me into someone capable of leading meaningful conversations, facilitating group discussions, and guiding community meetings.
My personal experiences—though challenging to articulate fully—have taught me the importance of listening empathetically and discerning the essence of others' struggles. Through these experiences, I have come to understand what it means to confront pain while seeking avenues for healing. I believe that healthy communities and supportive groups are essential for building connections among individuals, allowing everyone to feel heard and understood.
Every life possesses unique worth, value, and meaning, shaped by the specific time and place of its birth—even that of an individual who may initially appear to be an adversary.
Thank you for your time, as it is the most precious and irreplaceable resource we possess. I believe that every minute spent understanding and supporting one another helps us become more compassionate and responsive individuals.
In my speech, I shared my life journey—a path that intertwines academic excellence with profound personal growth and genuine human empathy. I introduced my diverse educational background, which encompasses psychotraumatology, biblical studies, management, marketing, and the humanities. This varied education has deepened my understanding of the complexities of human existence. I discussed how my personal experiences and the process of confronting trauma have shaped me, teaching me to listen actively, engage in authentic and meaningful conversations, and collaborate with communities in search of help, healing, and inner peace.
I emphasized that every life holds intrinsic value—even the life of someone we might consider an adversary—although this value is not always clearly recognized.
Inspired by the notion that do not need to feed the entire world; it is sufficient to feed just one, I champion a nonjudgmental approach, empathy, and sincere concern for the well-being of others. I believe that prevention, active listening, and open dialogue are crucial for overcoming emotional pain and trauma, allowing us to grow and progress together.
My work as a non-denominational theologian, mentor, and facilitator of discussions in both small groups and larger community settings is grounded in my firm belief that only by acknowledging our vulnerabilities and remaining open to one another can we achieve authentic personal and social growth. Together—by fostering communities and supportive groups—we can cultivate an environment where every individual, regardless of their struggles or setbacks, can reclaim their worth and discover hope for a brighter future.
Thank you for your time, as it is the most precious and irreplaceable resource we possess. I firmly believe that each of us has the power to change the world for the better, starting with one individual and, in turn, fostering a more harmonious, compassionate, and humane society.
